bossiness

At home,
"Nan, you should stop playing games and help mum do some work, she is asking you now.."
"Nan, you shouldn't talk back to dad like that, you can't say things properly izit.."
"Eh, you should... you shouldn't..."

Between friends,
"Stand beside a bit la...", " wait wait...", "faster la...".

That's what and how I always talk to my brother or sometimes, to my friends.

I didn't really realize it until last year my friend pointed out this to me.

Last week, when I wanted to give a 'talk' to my brother and then I came across that whenever my parents or sister ask me to help them to do something, I will give excuses.

Despite how your excuses sounds so logically convincing, they are still excuses.

Consciously or not, I always do this.

Annoying?
Yes.
How about change for a bit?
I'm trying.

Feeling Good? Yup.

I'm feeling fresh. Just finished bathing. *wink*
I brought back a lot of books, got an assignment due on Monday, but have to complete it by Friday. Urgh.

Frankly speaking, I'm not too much a homesick person because I'm not too far away from hometown. Always back home at least once in two months. But, IT FEELS GOOD TO BE HERE. Nothing beats meeting up with friends and family.

While having dinner with my dad and bro right after I reached Taiping. *message alerts*
Agnes- "Hey yo..wana watch Real Steel...with me gan jenn.1010pm"

LOL. A movie right now? Erm.. not really, but I wanted to meet them! So, I said ok. Teehehee... Went to Jenn's house first and Agnes showed me Jenn's sick faces photos when her skin problems got worsened for the past few days. When I first saw it, I thought it was some sort of advertisement for some skin products. Oh, there were dates labelled together with each of the photo. My god. Fortunately, her condition seems turning a bit better now.

Anyway, we don't get to watch the movie, the good seats were selling fast. But is okay, we went to Big Apples! Yeah, Taiping have Big Apples and Domino's Pizza as well!

Went to the food court, chit-chatting, laughing non-stop all the way. Though Gan and Agnes is a loving couple, but we always don't feel ourselves as 'lightbulbs' when with them. Nothing awkward.

Today when I meet up with friends, it feels like kind of long I didn't see them them while the fact is maybe it just about a month. I couldn't describe what I'm feeling when I saw them. It was something more than friends, like family. I'm not exaggerating, I can feel the warmness inside me.
Soon, more friends will be back, Serena, Khaili, Pjuan and Spyng. And a mini party for the 'secret two' will be held soon. :)

I'm not wiser than others nor am I a better person.
But, I'm a lucky girl who has wonderful people around me.

Yue Yue and Genovese

A two-year old kid, Yue Yue has been hit down by a small van. However, the driver did not stop and continue drove his van and rolled over her the second time. Seven minutes later, a truck went over her again. In the meantime, 18 witnesses passed by, nobody lend a hand. At last, an old lady passed by and helped the little girl. Later on, the first driver has been found.
He said," If I hit someone and he died, I may only have to pay ten or twenty thousands, but if he did not die, I have to afford the lifetime injury cost."

I'm sure most of you felt what I'm feeling.

In the early morning of March 1964, Kitty Genovese had driven home from her job working as a bar manager. Arriving home at about 3.15am, she parked her car 30m away from her apartment's door. As she walked towards the building, she was approached by Winston Moseley. She began to walk faster. However, Moseley who ran after her, quickly over took her and stabbed her twice in the back.

Genovese then screamed," OH MY GOD, HE STABBED ME! HELP ME!" Her cry was heard by several neighbors. One of the neighbors shouted at the attacker,"Let that girl alone!" Moseley then ran away. Genovese was seriously injured, but seeing her got up and staggering around, people believe she is in no need of help.

Moseley returned 10 minutes later. Eventually, he found Genovese lying barely conscious in a hallway. He proceeded to further attack her, stabbing her several more times. while she lay dying, he raped her, stile money from her, left her in the hallway. A few minutes after the final attack, a witness called police. Genovese was taken away by ambulance and she died while on the way to hospital.

Later investigation by police and presecutors revealed that approximately a dozen individuals nearby had heard or observed portions of the attack, though none saw or aware of the entire incident. One of the neighbors admitted and said,"I didn't want to get involved."

An experiment had been carried out by a psychologist. A man has been asked to act as he was attacked by Epilepsy. Results showed that when there are more than four people witness the incident, most of them wouldn't take further action to help the man. In contrast, when there are only one witness during the incident, about 85% will lend a hand.

The Genovese case and the experiment prompted research into diffusion of responsibility and the bystander effect. This line of research showing that contrary to common expectations, larger numbers of bystanders decrease the likelihood that someone will step forward and help a victim. The reasons include the fact that onlookers see that others are not helping either, that onlookers believe others will know better how to help, and that onlookers feel uncertain about helping while others are watching.

At certain level, both cases of Yue Yue and Genovese can be explained psychologically. These witness felt that the responsibilities of rescuing people was not theirs. However, you still can find differences between both cases. To help out Yue Yue, one doesn't need to risk his life. While to rescue Genovese, the witness may have high probability attacked by Moseley.

Sometimes, to save people in China is 'risky'. There were a lot of cases where those saviors got sued and became defendants in a court. One of the popular cases was the Peng Yu's case. On November 2006, Peng Yu saw an old lady fell down. Eventually, he went to help her up and brought her to hospital. The report came out the old lady have to undergo a surgery. Right after that, she wanted Peng Yu to afford the cost as she claimed that he is the one who pushed her down.

Later on, Peng Yu has been convicted by the judge. After knowing this, a witness who saw the whole incident where the old lady actually fell down herself said," Friends, from now on who will dare to do the righteous thing?"

Even the lady who helped Yue Yue has been described as 'someone who wanted to be famous' and she is also envied by some ridiculous people for she got money as her reward.

So tell me, where were their humanity gone?

Chatterbox

I asked Nory (secretary of PMMU) about the program, and she said I can follow the previous batch, organise a SPSS workshop and invite lecturer to give a talk. I'm not sure whether to hold the same program or do something different.

Anyway, felt so happy that got to talk to Jyong again!
Talked bout her life, her 'unusual' relationships with others XD, her classes, timetable, housemates, family, trips, holidays, coming interview, cooking curry... etc.

Have a lot of fun talking non-stop after we didn't meet each other around.. a month? hahaa.. Glad to hear that she is always having fun there. Not to mention staying in a room by herself, with a king-sized bed and an attached bathroom! D=

Chit-chat for an hour and a half? Never mind, we have a good laugh.

P/s: Wei, don't miss out the Harry Potter Walking Tour in London!

Brain, Rain and Storm

The 1st meeting between the new elected AJK PMMU (Persatuan Matematik Mahasiswa UPSI) was held in Bitarasiswa just now. I was chosen as 'Exco Akademik and Kerjaya' with a partner, Fakhri.

Then the president or the secretary said (was busy talking to a friend beside me)," Every exco have to plan a program in this PMMU 2011/2012 by themselves...."

*Right away turn to the whoever who is talking* What? An exco a program?

"...and every Exco please think about something about it and we will have meeting again by Tuesday. Three days should be enough for you all to...."

Oh my, I didn't know that. I can hear my brain cells working fast for a moment.
What kind of program? How many participants? What if I can't think of any? And how to discuss with Fakhri while I don't even know him yet? How about paper work?

I will always easily got nervous when people expected me to do something out especially when it is about dealing with a bunch of people.

Talking about these, though I have been friends with Jenn for years, I still feel very amazed that she can always handle all her works. The works I mean here included as a president of Rangers, a sport house's leader, a school magazine's editor, a club's president and a Head Prefect as well. Not to mention it was in her SPM year. (Maybe she's not muggle. XD)

Duh, I should complain nothing.

But... I need ideas now. *brainstorming*

I'm Just a Muggle

Have a lot of things to be done. Actually.
List them down? Okay.

Numerical Methods.(the 3rd assign) - due on Thursday
3P 'pembelajaran kognitif'. - due on next week
Slide show on teaching and learning English as second language. - due on next week

A lot? Yet, I had done none of them.

Have been reading Harry Potter for these few days. Currently finishing Half Blood Prince. I don't remember during those days I can read them in such a speed. The plots are interesting? Certainly! Bury myself in Hogwarts, worry about nothing but the relationships between Ron and Hermione or Harry and Professor Snap etc.
Sometimes I guess this action of mine more or less reflects avoidance. Avoid of doing assignments. >.<

Hey come on, picking up and 'revise' about Deathly Hallows are much more interesting okay?
Anyway, better catch up my Numerical Methods now or... heh!
Perhaps I can grab some 'Fainting Fancy' or 'Fever Fudge' from Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes so to be excluded on hand in those assignments? :P

Daniel Powter

A little bit busy for the past two days and guess this situation will only gradually increase in this upcoming time.

Day before yesterday, have to complete the Numerical Method's assignment (yup, again!). Have been cracked my head hard solving the two questions and it took me around 4hrs.
2.3464340934 5.84493480 0.434719475 4.9482394872................. Calculate all these number with these extra extra decimal points again and again makes me a bit 'pekchek'.

Supposingly there was a Multivariable Calculus quiz in the morning (ady prepared) and it has been postponed due to some reason.

Yesterday, went for a early dinner with Chyi and Wai after Taekwondo. Right after eating only I realized I didn't bring my purse. And so, Wai paid for me.

Right after that, Syong called me out with her and Jie. This time, I make sure myself to bring wallet. We went to a restaurant, have a drink. And guess what,  my wallet has only plus minus RM2. Again, people have to pay for me.

Not to mention tomorrow morning I will have 3 hours class of Taekwondo which equal to 3 hours of tiredness. *Oh no! D=*

Warmth at 0233

While I woke up at 4am dis morning n i checked. "Eh, a new msg? who the hell will send me msg in the middle of night?"
OH.... IS JYONG! All the way from UK. *touched* I then read the msg she sent me n she is mentioning about missing siang malam. Lol.
Eh, siaopo? How are you there? All of us are missing you already. heheee...

Out of sudden, I am always glad I have this bunch of friends (no other people like them in this world) that are worth to be friend for life. Sit beside and listen to me, I can tell you why.

Every best friends of mine has their own special characteristics and personalities. I always wanted to blog out something about them. I mean every single one of them. This thought has been lingered in my head quite sometime ago. But I always don't have the courage to do that as I found it is rather tough for me to write out my thoughts in words (in accurate words). Anyway, I will try.

Love them always.
